In my years of teaching piano, I have come across many children who quit the piano lessons class after a while, and quite frankly, I have lost count of them.

It is quite frustrating for parents whenever the kids tell them they want to quit and I understand the kind of feeling, being a parent myself.

After the hassle of paying up for the piano lessons, reschedule your own timetable to accommodate the sending and picking up of the kids to and from the class, you are then told that they want to quit.

No matter what, as parents, you need to put aside all your frustration and find out why your child suddenly want to quit the piano class. There could be many reasons behind it and if you are able to find out the why, you may be able to help them.

Can it be you have line up too many activities for your child?

Can it be the distance to the class is too far and the traveling time takes a toll on the child?

Can it be the lesson is schedule too early in the morning or too late in the evening, causing inconvenient for the kid?

Can it be the teacher is too strict and demanding which cause your child to lost interest?

Or can it be your child has tried and maybe piano is not for them.

There are many other possible reasons and to find out the truth, you will have to sit down and talk to your kids slowly. When you talk to them, make sure that you put it nicely, making the young kids child feel comfortable and sense that you really cared and concerned about him.

Ultimately, as parent, you need to make sure that your kids love and enjoy piano. If they don't enjoy piano, consider switching to other musical instrument instead. Forcing them to continue will make the matter worst and sooner or later, they will QUIT again.
